The APSIC 2009 invites attendees to present research papers and educational presentations of scientific quality in the areas of infection prevention and control, healthcare epidemiology and related fields. Accepted abstracts are scheduled as poster presentations. By submitting an abstract, the author(s) acknowledges that the abstract has not been previously published in another copyrighted journal, if accepted. |

Guideline for Abstract Submission |
|
| |
- Abstract must be submitted to the Conference Secretariat before March 31, 2009.
- Abstract should not be previously presented at other conferences.
- Please download the “Abstract Submission Form” for electronic submission or submit the abstract online.
- All electronic abstract submission should be sent to apsic2009@mvdmc.com as document attachment.
- Please save your file as an MS word 97/2000/xp (doc.) or Rich Text Format (RTF)
- Typed in black ink using Times New Roman font size 12 with single-line spacing not exceeding 250 words.
- The format of the abstract is recommended as follows:
- Title
- Author(s)
- Background/Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
- Capitalized the entire title, then the author’s name, institution, city and country. Underline the presenting author’s name only. Omit degrees, titles and full address.
- All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
- Handwritten abstracts will not be accepted.
- Oral presentation and poster would all be conducted in English.
- Notification of abstract status to presenting author will be issued by May 15, 2009.

All Abstracts are put through the following process:
|
|
| |
- All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a panel made up of members of the Scientific Subcommittee.
- The criteria for evaluating abstracts includes:
a.
adherence to the themes of the Conference
b.
relevance to the infection prevention and control
c.
interest to an international audience
d.
originality of the work
- Presenting authors must be registered for the Conference when confirming their acceptance

Prize for the Best Poster Award |
|
| |
This award recognizes the “Best in Show” poster presentation selected by the Abstract Selection Committee. Full registration plus two nights accommodation will be awarded to the best poster presentation. To be considered for this award, the poster must meet the following criteria:
- poster is easily readable at 4 feet
- figures are labeled and legends are clear
- title/author placed above poster
- abstract placed on left side of poster
- visually appealing
- presents information in an organized yet concise manner
- results represented in a graphic format
