Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The fourth international congress of our society will now be in Macau, to be held in 2009. I take great pleasure to specially invite you to join us. The meeting has grown from strength to strength. In a sense it is like our field of Infection Control. The world is now fully conscious of the importance of preventing hospital infections. As healthcare workers it is really our sacred responsibility. However, with the interest and support for our field, there are also rising expectations. We must be both professional and knowledgeable. Thus it is important that we come together and share the new challenges that confront us in our practice. We must also update ourselves from the host of renowned international speakers who would be attending. Infection Control can only be done with strong regional and global links and we must stay in touch with one another. We must also find out the latest developments from organizations like the World Health Organization. I am sure everyone in the health care community will find the conference interesting and beneficial. Finally, it is exciting that we can do it in Macau. The city indeed has a “new face”, yet retaining her charm and warmth. There is really no better place to meet and I look forward to see all of you in the congress.
